Over the years Danny Vann has performed benefit concerts for MDA, SIDS, Huntington's Disease, Boys Lutheran Homes, St. Vincent’s Home and local families’ needs for various reasons. Danny has participated not only in benefit concerts but in fundraising, gift giving & wrapping for Christmas at the Michigan Lutheran Boys Home in his hometown of Bay City, MI.

Danny, who along with his five brothers and sisters lived at the St. Vincent Home during the summer of 1966-67, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony (pictured at left) for the new Michael McGivney School at St. Vincents in Saginaw, MI. In 2001 the home celebrated 125 years of being a "light in the community" for its service to disadvantaged youth.

"It was a real big thing for us," Danny remarked in a newspaper interview about the ceremony. "The fact that it's (St. Vincent Home) has survived all these years is incredible. It's great to know that there are people who care enough to help these kids."

Danny said his time at St. Vincent Home helped nuture his spirituality and his love for music. He especially appreciated the live bands and the way the musicians would take the time to meet the kids. It's a lesson he incorporates as he performs with his own band. Like so many other former residents of St. Vincent Home, Danny says it's "my turn to give back."
